みしま・りつえ　1962年京都府生まれ。CMや雑誌の仕事でインテリアのスタイリング、花のインスタレーションを手がけた後、ヴェネチアに移住。1996年よりムラーノ島のガラス工房に通いはじめ、ガラス職人とのコラボレーションによって作品を生み出す。2001年にはロンドン・サザビーズよりジョルジオ・アルマーニ賞を受賞。近年、銀座の資生堂ギャラリーで個展が開催される等、今最も注目を集めるガラス作家の一人。

Born in Kyoto, Japan, 1962. Mishima worked as an interior stylist for TV commercials and magazines, moving on to focus on flower installations. In 1996, after moving to Venice, she began visiting glass ateliers on Murano Island, creating pieces in collaboration with glass masters. In 2001, she was the recipient of the Giorgio Armani prize awarded by Sotheby's in London. In recent times, her activities have included solo exhibi- tions at the Shiseido Gallery in Ginza.
